Snowzilla I hope you all had a splendid Christmas. This was my first white Christmas and it was wonderful! Bryce, Trent and I built Snowzilla and there was still so much snow everywhere! We are all fans of the Calvin and Hobbes snowmen . That is why Snowzilla is terrorizing the smaller snowmen.

Favorite Christmas Cookies This recipe comes from my Grandma Dennis. It is my favorite kind of cookie, (I know picking a favorite cookie is like picking a favorite star, wait actually I do have a favorite star...so never mind about that point.) Anyways, I believe they are also Sara and my Dad's favorite cookies, but not Nathan's. Nate loves snickerdoodles and chocolate chip cookies, which are delicious but peasantly in comparison to Almond Creams : You will need: Cookie 6T cold butter 1 C flour 2 1/2t cream granulated sugar for dipping Frosting 1 C powdered sugar 2 T butter 1T cream 1 splash Almond extract Combine the cookie ingredients as if you were making a pie crust. (Cut the butter in until it resembles small pebbles, then blend in cream.) Roll the dough into a thin sheet maybe 1/8 inch. and cut with a cookie cutter. These cookies are pretty delicate so I would not recommend a large cookie cutter because larger cookies are more prone to breaking. Broken cookies are sad. A...

A New Project is Born: I know I already have a big pile of projects that I am working on and they are all in various states of doneness, and none actually done. When you have a list this long what is one more teensy weensy project? Especially one as adorable as this? This ring can be bought at Etsy for $55. An genius lady named Rachel Ludlow (it's in the name) makes them along with other adorable things. Looking at her jewelry has inspired me to make my own. I have never made jewelry before, I've actually never even wanted to make jewelry, but I am turning over a new leaf thanks to Etsy and the wonderful people who make instructables like this one! My only difficulty is that I don't really want to make a little love ring for myself... So my actual plan is to make it for someone else and swindle my handsome Honeybub into making one for me.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas! It finally snowed! None of it stuck, but yesterday there was actual snow coming out the sky! I really love snow. Growing up in California I was snow deprived so now I really appreciate it. There were a few things that really surprised me about snow though. TV and movies make snow look a lot different than it actually is and I have realized that other people might suffer the same confusion I did. Remember I love snow, there are just a few things about it that you should know:

Tutu 5K This Saturday was my first ever real race! Probably a lot of people out there think a 5K is a baby race. I happen to think you should never run unless you are being pursued by a wild boar with murder on his mind; and even then you should stop if you feel a sweat coming on. This Saturday was a little different though. It turns out running with Tara is much funner than running with no Tara. Here are Tara and I coming into the finish, and there in the bottom leftish area of the picture you can see the shadow of Bryce's head and hand, taking the picture. :D Here I am being happy to see Bryce and happy the race is almost over! I decided to enter hover-mode for the last leg of the race. Tara and I made our tutus using the directions on this website . I recommend tutus whenever you want to run. One of the main reasons that I hate running because I feel ugly when I do it, and the tutu definitely helps with that.

Sweet Cuppin' Cakes Sonya sent me a link to this recipe , for eggnog cupcakes, which sounded so delicious that I needed to try it. I decided to make a batch for the German class Bryce teaches. College people are usually starving so I figured cupcakes would be appreciated, but my main motivation was that I am usually starving and I wanted to eat them. I made the cupcakes and frosted the cupcakes and everything was great, or so I thought... I encountered a major problem in the fact that, no matter how hard you try you can never never fit more than 15 intact cupcakes into a Pyrex dish ever. There are 16 students in Bryce's class and the pyrex dish is the biggest container I own with a lid. It seemed silly to send one cupcake alone in a little tupperware, (also I would never see the little tupperware again, the little ones never make it home!) I figured maybe someone would be absent, but that seemed like a risky bet. So, I'm sorry Bryce's German Class. I made these for ...
