Sideboard Refinishing
I keep telling people how excited I am about this sideboard, and everyone says something like, "Cyborg?" It is a real thing ok? Traditionally sideboards are used for serving food in a main living area of the house, not the kitchen, but I wanted one for storing all of our electronics. I found mine in the thrift store for $35. I fell in love with it right away, but it wasn't perfect yet. I carefully cleaned all the surfaces, firstly to prepare it for refinishing, and secondly because it came from a thrift store, so who knows where it has been. Gross. Then I took off all the hardware, including the cabinet doors. Then I wiped on two coats of my favorite Gerneral Finishes Gel Stain , the color I used was "Java". I really love that stuff. Everything it touches becomes pretty. Also it is dark and thick so you don't have to sand down to the bare wood if you don't want to, and I never want to. I also sealed it with two coats of poly urethane, and put on some...
You Might Be Reading A Straw Man Argument If:
Tis the season for elections and gorilla assasinations. People are suddenly vocal about feelings, mostly on Facebook and blogs. It is also a time of sharing articles that describe how you feel about issues. I love that Facebook and blogs let people connect, debate, and share ideas. I don't love that those same tools can alienate and insult your loved ones. So before you click "Share" and type, "YESSS THIS!!!!" or "I'm just going to leave this here..." ask yourself: Is this a straw man argument? ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAH that's soooooo hilarious!!!!!! I got a little scared he was gone!!! SO funny!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought I saw that poster on the bench out there! That's really the funniest thing ever.
ReplyDeleteYou are always "ahead of the curve" aren't you, Rachel? Just couldn't keep it 27 more days until April 1st. ;-)
ReplyDeletehahahaha soooo funny.
1-Biggest problem: observational tendencies (or lack of them, if not the object of cognitive focus) of the targets.
2-We may support "the bubs" financially -- but he's always been "The Boys'" dog. [Of course Trent would correct me here and say: "You mean 'the MEN's'!"]
Of course, this is the perfect picture because it shows how sensitive "The Bubs" is (notice the tear in his eye);-)
ReplyDeleteIt was taken just after Trent opened his mission call. Bubs was excited, but had to quickly excuse himself outside -- when he realized it would mean two years without a sleeping buddy! (Well, you certainly can't expect Puggy to fill in there now, can you?)
